Cookies and storage
Last updated: 2 October 2026
LevelUp uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we don't let other companies track you through LevelUp. Because everything below is needed to give you the service you asked for, there is nothing to switch on or off, and we show a notice rather than ask for consent. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
What we store
token, member): keeps you logged in on this device, and lets the home page skip its opening animation if you already have an account. Removed when you log out (token);memberstays until you clear your browser data. - Opening animation (
intro, session storage): remembers that the home page opening has played during this visit. It disappears when you close the tab. - Language (
lang): remembers the language you chose. - Currency (
currency): remembers the currency you chose for prices. - Notifications (
pushToken, pushUser, pushNudge): only if you turn notifications on or decline our reminder to. Removed when you turn them off or log out. - This notice (
cookie_notice): remembers that you have seen it. - Discord login (cookie
lu_oauth): a short-lived, secure cookie that ties a Discord login to the browser that started it. It lasts a few minutes and is only set if you log in with Discord. - Offline copy (cache): the app can keep a copy of its own pages on your device so it opens quickly. It holds no personal data.
Third parties
Payment pages are run by our payment provider, Stripe, and Discord login by Discord. If you use them you leave LevelUp, and they may set their own cookies under their own policies. Links to Wikipedia and YouTube on our games pages open those sites, which have their own cookies too. LevelUp does not embed them.
Your choices
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. You will be logged out and we will forget your language and currency. Blocking them completely may stop login from working.
If this changes
If we ever add anything that isn't strictly needed, such as analytics or advertising, we will ask for your permission first and update this page.
